...it isn't because I don't love this story--I do; it's one of my favorites. A bit cyberpunk, a bit dystopian, but mostly just through the eyes of a child who, like all children, thinks that her world is THE world and that the way things are in it is the ONLY way things are, and when something bad happens to a friend, never even thinks that asking anyone else for help is a possible solution...but does work one out herself.
